It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Sharon Diane Huntington on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the age of 61 years, comforted by her daughter at the Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, Arizona. Sherri was born to Raymond Eugene Kimes, Sr. and Shirley Ann Kimes on December 31, 1957 in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Camelback High School in 1975. She spent many years as a homemaker, taking care of her only daughter who she loved dearly. She was also a Fraud Investigator at Discover, which she enjoyed sharing stories about with her friends and family. Sherri loved living life through simple pleasures. She loved her daughter and grandchildren dearly, who were the sole focus of her life. Her friends were also another important part of her life as she loved chatting and sharing memories with them on a daily basis. She enjoyed taking trips to Laughlin with her friends and family to play Bingo and slot machines. She also enjoyed listening to music and always knew many facts about her favorite artists, and loved to share them with others. Sherri’s love for coffee was also undeniable when she would make a warm cup for her friends and family. She never failed to be there when someone needed advice or to simply laugh. Sherri will be remembered by her family and friends for her sincere love for everyone and her ability to make anyone laugh no matter the circumstances. She is survived by her mother Shirley Kimes, Daughter Erin Childers, Son-in-Law Todd Childers, three grandchildren Autumn, Tristen and Bailey, and her dog, Sissy. Sherri will also be forever remembered by her her nephews Bryan Kimes and Daniel Kimes, and extended family and dear friends. Sherri was preceded in death by her father Raymond Eugene Kimes, Sr., her brother Raymond Eugene Kimes, Jr., and her late husband, Ron Hochrine Jr.
A celebration of Sherri’s life will be held on Monday, September 9th, 2019 at 10:00 AM, at Best Funeral Services, 9380 W. Peoria Avenue, with burial services following at 12:00 PM at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley Road.
