George Julian Neville born April 15, 1940 in Manistique, Michigan, the son of the late Lloyd and Alice Neville (Thivierge). George died at Banner Thunderbird Hospital on April 19, 2013 in Glendale, Arizona at the young age of 73 after an extensive battle with cancer. George Neville graduated from Manistique High School in 1958. after graduating, he married his high school sweetheart, Marie Lancour, on September 5, 1959 and joined the Air Force. While in the Air Force he was a Crew Chief on the T-33. He also worked on the F-102, F-106, and F-4. Later in his career he was Aircraft Maintenance Management of the F-15, B-52 and KC-135. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from Luke AFB at 49 years old after 30 years of service. After his retirement he held a variety of different jobs such as delivering donuts, delivering phone books, working at ABC Sand & Rock with his son-in-law Lance Salo and working at the post office. He also tried out as an extra on the movie “Waiting to Exhale.” He loved bowling, shooting pool, horseshoes, and playing darts and hanging out with family and friends before he got sick. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Marie (Lancour) Neville of 53 years. He also leaves behind two sons, Ronald Neville and Michael Neville and his twin daughters Kari (Neville) Bell and Kim (Neville) Salo.
He was preceded in death by his middle child, William Neville, and his brother, David Neville. He has left behind a wonderful legacy of 20 grandkids and 8 great-grandkids who loved him dearly. His wittiness and sense of humor will truly be missed by his family and friends. As his son, William, always used to say, “Love Ya….Mean It.”
Memorial Service will be on Saturday, May 4th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Kari and Guy Bell’s house at 5304 W. Willow Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85304.
