Barbara Allen Schwabauer passed away in her home in Peoria, AZ on December 13, 2019 surrounded by her family and husband of 65 years, Phil Schwabauer. Born January 24, 1936 to Gerald and Dorothy Allen. Ten years later her parents gave birth to her little sister and best friend for life, Jerrie Allen McNelly. She spent most of her life in Liberty, MO. She graduated from Liberty High School class of 1954 where she met and married the “one true love of her life” Phil Schwabauer Jr. They married on June 4, 1954. Over the next four years they were blessed with the birth of their two sons, David Allen and Richard (Ricky) Dean. She will be remembered for her love of fashion, which would lead her to be manager and buyer of “The In Set” and Donly & Company, both in Liberty. Followed by her own boutique “Barbara’s” in the Antioch Mall in the Northland. Before retiring to AZ Barbara and Phil enjoyed teaming up as Realtors for Chasteen Duffey Co. She loved Sundays as a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan and rarely missed a home game with her family and friends the Lowman’s, Triplett’s and Moorefield’s at Arrowhead and never missed a game in AZ with her family. She was a true Missouri Democrat never afraid to speak her mind. In life and death she was and will always be the thread that binds our family. She is survived by her husband Phil Schwabauer Jr, sons David (Cathy) Schwabauer, of Lawrence KS, Rick (Jim Dillon) of Palm Springs CA, grandchildren Liz (Elliot) Sims and Matt (Katie Hobson) Schwabauer, great grandchildren Killian, Rylan, Norah Jo, and Ashton, sister Jerrie McNelly, and her nieces, Barbie Schroeder, Jennifer Cherry, Tracey Kelly, Karin Ellis, Ken Smith, Kelly Schwabauer and their families, and her little girl Chloe.
