diamondpiccroppedBetty J Sailor-Diamond was born on November 1, 1935 in Augusta, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Pearletha Sailor and her brother, Arthur Sailor Jr.Betty moved to Chicago at an early age where she attended Wendy Phillips High School. She later moved to Kansas City, MO where she attended and graduated from Lincoln High School. She later met and married Sidney Diamond Sr. on April 14, 1956. To that union, two children were born, daughter Adrianne (John) Murray and son Sidney Diamond Jr. Betty and Sidney Sr. moved the family to Phoenix, Arizona in 1967. She was employed at the Maryvale Hospital in Phoenix, AZ until her retirement in the mid-90’s. Betty was a longtime volunteer with the Beatitudes, driving patients to and from medical appointments, assisting with grocery shopping and being a companion to those who were shut-in. Betty leaves behind to mourn her memory: her loving husband, Sidney Diamond Sr., daughter Adrianne, son, Sidney Jr., sister Ann Yarbrough, two grandchildren, Anthony Diamond and Cherissa Murray, four nieces, Kimberly Yarbrough, Karen Beckford (Nigel), all of Phoenix, AZ, Carol Sailor (Pierre) of Kansas City, MO, Ella Hopkins of Houston, TX, two nephews, Steven Sailor and Derrick Sailor, both of Kansas City, Mo, four great-grandchildren, special relatives Helen Sailor of Kansas City, MO and John & Ruthie Boykin of Kansas City, KS and a host of friends.
