David W. Hannappel (59) passed away on January 9, 2020. He was born on December 12, 1960 in Mesa, AZ, to Jerry Hannappel and Melissa Nielson. His life revolved around his family, his dogs, and his business, Silverton Contractors, Inc., but his #1 priority was being a Dad. He was a hero to many, a business icon to most, and a father figure men strived to be. David showed nothing but unconditional love, taught the value of hard work WITHOUT sacrificing one second of family time, and always encouraged people to do what they love. He was a perfectionist, yet loved chaos. He was a man of few words, but provided guidance most could not. He was a gentleman, but he would cause trouble when trouble was due. He loved the thrill of flipping Rzrs at the sand dunes, lighting off fireworks in the neighborhood, and always came back from a family Mexico trip with a crazy story to tell. His doors were always open to all... and their dogs. He loved hosting frequent get togethers with family and friends and was always sure to have everyone extend the invite. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and especially by his children -- his legacy. He is survived by his four children with Pam; Briette (Chris), Kinsey (Jordan), Brysen, and Ambrin. His beautiful granddaughter Laila, who called him “Papa”. His siblings Theresa (Jessie), Gary (Pam), Debbie (Keith), Ted (Brandie), Michael (Kathy) who passed in 2017, and Lynn (Dave). His nieces and nephews Brandon (Angelina), Adam, Alexis, Brad, Danielle (Jeremy), Scott (Priscilla), Cammy (Brad), Dalynn, Hayden, Colton, Natasha, Jade, Jacob, and Charlotte. And a plethora of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His service will be held at St. Gregory Church (3424 N 18th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85015) on Friday, January 24 at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, David would love to see donations sent to Barb's Dog Rescue in Rocky Point.
