Dorothy E. Ward
Dorothy E. Ward (97) passed away quietly on Sunday October 22, 2017 in her home in Sun City, Arizona.
She suffered a major stroke on May 29, 2015 and was in the hospital and went through rehab, but had several more stokes in subsequent years which ultimately took her life.
She graduated from High School in May 1938 and worked in Duckwall’s general store in Brush Colorado until she married Boyd Ward on December 24, 1938. They set up their home on a farm in Hayes County Nebraska. Later in life they heard the call of the ministry and served the Lord in Church building and Pastoral work until 1983. They were blessed with four children, Boyd Jr., Garry, Joyce, and Jackie, as well as 8 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, and 16 Great, Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Boyd Sr. on November 9, 2003, 6 weeks before their 65th anniversary, and their infant daughter Jacqueline Kay, as well as her parents Ephraim and Ethel Vancil and eight brothers and sisters, Alice Christensen, Ruby Reichert, Merle Wilburn, Shirley Gilfrey, Vernon Vancil, John Vancil, Stanley Vancil, and Eugene Vancil.
We will miss her, but we know she is in Heaven with Jesus and in the presence of family and friends, and that we will see her again one day.
