Dorothy Jones (née Coltes), a remarkable daughter of God, was born on November 9, 1929 in Richmond, Virginia and passed on August 2, 2020. She graduated Craddock High School (Portsmouth VA) in 1948. Dorothy met her husband, a young navy sailor, at a church mutuals group in Portsmouth, Virginia. In 1952, they married and Dorothy spent the next 20 years moving throughout the great United States of America to wherever the US Navy took them. Dorothy also raised 4 sons during this time. Dorothy had a servant's heart and was the strength, the light & the heartbeat of her family. She faithfully served her church, her family and her community. Dorothy’s spirit is one of unconditional love, peace, acceptance, humility and gratitude. To know Dorothy was to love her. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Denny. Also by her father Vivian Coltes, mother Louise Coltes (Rhome), stepmother Lida Coltes and brother Byron Coltes. We know a great reunion is taking place, especially with her mother who passed when Dorothy was only 8 years of age. She is survived by her four sons Denny Jr. (Sandi), Steven (Sherry), Glenn (Carol) & Dale. Her siblings Ronnie Coltes, Sharon Johnson, Donna Johnson & Patricia Coltes. Grandchildren Robin (Brent) Brooks, Timothy Jones, Robert Chavez, Michael and Shana Jones. She was also blessed by great, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a lifetime of special friendships. Dorothy has left a beautiful legacy that spans 5 generations.
