Earl Stroehl of Sun City AZ, a WWII veteran who served in the AAF from Jan 21, 1942 to Oct 17, 1945 and received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal, Three Overseas Service Bars, and the Armed Service Ribbon.  He was born on Nov 11, 1920 and passed away on March 8, 2014.  Earl was raised on a farm in Lidgerwood, ND and eventually became a printer by trade.  He worked several printer jobs in Fargo, N.D. and later purchased a print shop in Winslow AZ.  Earl and Emma loved to camp and RV’d full time for 9 years after retiring.  Earl and Emma are members of Shepherd of the Desert Evangelical Lutheran Church Sun City AZ.  Earl volunteered as a printer at the church for 10 years until he lost his sight to macular degeneration.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leonard Stroehl.  He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Emma, his sister Marie Jensvold (Lidgerwood ND), and 7 children Daughters Connie (Roger) Welters (Frazee MN), Connie (Jack) Graves (Salome AZ), Renee Lee (Peoria AZ), Sons Terry (Sue) Pohlen (Pilot Point TX), Ron (Sharon) Froseth (Albuquerque NM), Brad (Svetlana) Froseth (Stillwater OK), Bruce (Mary) Froseth (Fargo ND).  Earl had 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors or Hospice of Arizona.  A viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. on March 12, 2014 at the Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church 11025 N. 111th Ave Sun City AZ.
