Date of Birth: July 09, 1937
Date of Death: March 12, 2021
He was born to Walter and Marie Trebing on July 9, 1937. At the age of 14, he met the love of his life, Evelyn, whom he married at age 23. At the age of 26, he and Evelyn gave their lives to Jesus, which changed the direction of their lives and gave them purpose. Ernie was a public school educator until God gave him a passion for Christian Education. He was superintendent of Christian School of Camden County (now known as The King’s Christian School) in Haddon Heights, New Jersey, from 1972-1977. In 1977, he moved his family to Knoxville, Tennessee to start the Christian Academy of Knoxville where he was headmaster until 1981. After that, an opportunity arose for him to start another school from the ground up, Emmanuel Christian School, in Enid, Oklahoma. He resided as Minister of Christian Schools until 1984. After that, he took the position of Headmaster in Phoenix, Arizona at Northwest Community Christian School (now known as Northwest Christian School). He served there until 1987, at which time he transitioned into the public school arena for the remainder of his career. Ernie’s love for teaching was second compared to his love for Christ and for his family.
