Esther Shinske passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, October 22, 2022. Born in Cleveland, Ohio July 25, 1937 she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.    Esther LaVerne Shinske (née Tegowski) 85, beloved wife of Deacon Joseph F. Shinske Jr.,  daughter of Antoni and Justina Tegowski (Bochaterewicz) loving mother of Terese Cook (Rob), Tina Fischer (Richard), LaVerne Croughan (David), Jacquelyn Feavel (Andy), Joseph Shinske III (Cindie), John Shinske Sr (Jenny), and Tricia Shinske (Pablo Rodriguez), devoted grandmother of Jeremy Oulton, Jamie Smith (Anthony), Brandon Hanna, Danielle Fischer, Elizabeth Fischer, Joseph Shinske IV, Aimee Shinske, Kirsten Shinske, John Shinske Jr, Haley Shinske, and Casey Croughan, and adoring great-grandmother of Chandler Hanna, Damen Smith and Maddox Smith. Sister of the following deceased siblings: Joseph, Estelle, Frank, Frances, Raymond, Richard, and Ralph.   Esther met husband Joe and they were married at St Stanislaus Church in Cleveland, Ohio on August 9, 1958. They moved to Arizona in 1972 where they made their permanent home full of sunshine that you ‘never have to shovel’. Esther was devoted to her faith and worked at the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix before retiring and continuing to dedicate herself to her family and her faith. She was always there to provide love and support for her family and friends. Always the hostess for countless family celebrations, many parties and gatherings with friends and loved ones, and whether it was a pool party, wedding or a holiday, Esther made everyone feel welcome.

Service Information

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at St Helen’s Catholic Church beginning at 9am with a Rosary and Wake Service followed by a Mass at 11am. At 1pm, a graveside ceremony will be held at National Cemetery followed by a reception in the hall at St Helen’s.
