Date of Birth: August 07, 1958
Date of Death: October 19, 2020
Gary was born August 8, 1958 to Darrell and Carol Gollhardt in Kenmore, NY. Gary passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2020. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Janet Gollhardt of Buckeye, AZ, his son Joe Miller and granddaughter Evangeline of Tonawanda, NY, his daughter Amanda Gollhardt of Buffalo, NY, his daughter and son-in-law Andrea Gollhardt and Bob Van Valin of Buffalo, NY. He is also survived by his mother Carol Gollhardt of Peoria, AZ, his sister and brother-in-law Robin and Ed Finley of Tonawanda, NY, his sister Cheryl Gollhardt of Peoria, AZ, his brother and sister-in-law David and Tina Gollhardt of Lockport, NY as well as five nieces and nephews. Gary's father, Darrell Gollhardt preceded him in death. Gary was very inquisitive his entire life and he loved learning how things worked. He taught himself about computers and made a successful career helping others solve their computer issues. He was fascinated by astronomy and space travel, and could always be found watching the NASA's launches and missions. His favorite TV channels were the NASA channel, Smithsonian channel, and National Geographic channel. In addition to his hunger for learning, he strongly valued the arts. As a young man, he earned a scholarship to dance at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. He enjoyed photography, and loved taking photos of the natural landscapes, as well as capturing family memories. Gary loved to read, (and re-read) all things Fantasy and Science Fiction. His books were well worn, as he would revisit them often. His favorites were The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind. He also enjoyed watching the film adaptations of his favorite books like Dune, Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings. Gary's three children, granddaughter, and wife were the light of his life. He adored each of his children and even though they were geographically apart Gary did his best to make it feel like they were just next door. Gary found love again with Janet eleven years ago. He was often heard claiming that the last eleven years were the happiest of his life. Family was always his top priority and always made sure to let them know how much they meant to him.
