Pinky was born in Zuni, NM. She grew up in Williams, AZ with her grandparents. Even as a child she marched to the beat of her own drummer. She loved to cook, read, and take adventures walking through the woods with her grandfather. Her family later moved to Phoenix where she began her career in banking. She worked her way from a teller to the first woman loan officer in Arizona. She was very active in the Woman's Club of Arizona as well as the American Institute of Banking. When she married and had children she chose to retire from the bank to devote her time to her family. During this time she honed her skills as a cake decorator and baker. She created some of the most unique and individual cakes that were not only beautiful but delicious. Once her children were grown she again entered the banking industry where she remained until her second retirement. She was able to travel and have many adventures with her family and friends. She was preceded by her husband, Armando "Mandy" Duarte. She is survived by her siblings, Linda, Alice, and Gene, her children AnnMarie and David their spouses Rusty Sand and April Duarte, her grandchildren Giovanni, David Jr, Kasia, Chase, Morgan, Madison, and Mia, and her great-grandaughters Aubrey and Mila.
