Jack LaPorte was born on July 11th, 1939, in Escanaba, Michigan to Jack and Ruby LaPorte. He grew up with his 2 brothers Jerry and Jim. From a young age Jack knew he would eventually race cars. In his early 20’s he started racing. He won his first trophy in 1967 followed by a championship in 1968. After achieving his goal on 4 wheels he turned to motorcycles, this was his true passion. With over 72 trophies, 4 championships, and several invitationals across different types of motorcycle racing its evident Jack was a driven, determined, motivated, and fierce competitor. This is how he played and worked. He spent 16 years as a driver/salesman for Vernors in Flint, Michigan before relocating to Arizona. After another 16 years as a lead warehouse worker, he retired from Relizon. Come to find out he did not like retirement, so he became a security guard for the next 7 years. Jack peacefully passed away, after a battle with dementia, on 11/19/2022 at his home in Glendale, Arizona surrounded by loved ones. Jack was married to Patsy for 56 years. He leaves behind son, Danny (Linda); daughters, Vicki Perkins and Cindy Clarke; stepson, Jeff Plaine (Annette); 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Ruby; granddaughter, Mindy Saxton; son, Scott. Jack will be missed by his loving wife and all his family and friends.

Uncle Jack was the best! I remember him bringing us Vernors when he came to visit Grandma & Grandpa Collins. He would play baseball with us. He had an awesome sense of humor and the best smile! He was an amazing uncle to all of us. We will miss him <3 My thoughts and prayers to the entire family.
Thinking of you sister, love prayers and hugs.
Frank Jane and family
My heartfelt sympathy and prayers extend to every member of Jack’s family. I feel blessed to have known “Grandpa Jack”, as my great nephew, Carson, called him. He will be greatly missed!
