Jehru Abdul Petty was born on January 28, 1975, To the loving union of Joseph Petty and Barbara Jean Potts. He was the second oldest to a family of 6. Jehru and his family moved from Cleveland Ohio to Los Angeles California when Jehru was just a baby. During Jehru’s time in Los Angeles he and his siblings were home schooled for standard academics and spiritual knowledge. Jehru loved to play football, basketball and baseball but found a strong passion for basketball as he grew into a teenage. Jehru and his family moved back to Cleveland in 1989. Where he attended Jane Addams High School. He played on the basketball team there for some time and attended the locate Boys and Girls Club in the area. He received his G.E.D from Grand Canyon University while spending some time in prison, taking advantage of an opportunity to change his life around for the better. In 2005 he was released from prison and began that journey. He began working at Exotic Cars in Caesars Palace hotel, Jiffy Lube and Fat Burger in Red Rock Hotel through 2008 to support his kids and their mothers at the time. In 2009, he met his end-of-life partner Nichelle (Keondre). They joined as one through spiritual love and understanding to make a commitment to raising they’re children together as one family. In 2010, he went on to complete a Diesel Mechanic major at Community College of Southern Nevada. Jehru was diagnosis in 2010, with stage 3 kidney disease. He decided at that time to stand stronger than he ever had and fight. His fight was for all his children. He was dedicated to making sure he had the chance to provide them with life tools, knowledge. To give them guidance based on his shortcomings or mistakes. He was big on treating people how you wanted to be treated. He had a big heart and was willing to share it with a chosen few. Jehru strength, legacy and love will continue to live on through his children and grandchildren: Keshawntanae (Chloe and Kyson), Jehru Jr.(Jamarion ), Bria, Teiana, Janyah, Jamiah, Jadon, Ke’Ondre, JeaLeah and Kyela. Ru as most known him as is truly loved and will be truly missed. We have comfort in knowing he will be reunited with those that he truly missed that have transitioned before him: his ancestors but most of all his beautiful mother and his best friend his sister Jarron. Those that will continue to cherish his memory here on earth until we meet again: his soulmate (Nichelle), his father (Joseph), brother Juba, sister( Jiya, Jebe, Jade), nephews, nieces, aunties, uncles and all his many family members and friends.
