Just shy of her 92nd birthday, Jo Ann M. Lewis (Ciochetti) passed away August 5, 2023. Jo Ann was one of those rare people who had friendships that lasted for decades. She was greatly loved and truly will be missed by friends and family. Born in Illinois, she was raised in Detroit, Michigan where she met her husband of 60 plus years, Thad K. Lewis, who predeceased her. After Thad left the Navy, they moved to Long Island, New York where Thad was based as a commercial airline pilot and they raised their five children before moving to Phoenix and then Scottsdale, Arizona. Jo Ann was a fashion maven with a great eye for color, style, and design. An avid tennis player, she made many of her best friends on the tennis courts of Long Island, Phoenix, and Prescott. She was fortunate enough to have traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. Her favorite trips were skiing in Switzerland and Argentina, touring London and Paris, cruising the Greek Isles, and visiting Italy. Jo Ann is survived by three grandsons and her five children: Brad Lewis and Susan Weber (Lewis) of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Jama Lewis and Scott Lewis of Phoenix, Arizona; and Lisa Alms (Lewis) of Burlingame, California. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Linda Walton, along with nephews, her niece and several grand nieces and nephews all of Michigan.
