Joan Lois Sexton, 89, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at her home in Sun City West, AZ with her sons by her side. Joan was born in Chicago, IL to Louis and Gertrude Gilbert. The family relocated to Phoenix, AZ in the 1940’s due to the health of her brother, Maurice. In 1953 she married her husband of 56 years, Don Sexton. Joan dedicated her life to being a good homemaker and mother to her three boys. Some of her other interests included reading and crossword puzzles. Survivors include her sons Jim (Nancy), Steve and Mike; grandchildren Amy Combs (Josh), Patrick Sexton, Emily Sexton, as well as great grandsons Ellis and Oliver who she lovingly called “the babes”.
