JoAnna Lillian Cardosa, known as "Jo" to close friends and family, passed away peacefully at age 85. She was born and raised in San Jose, California, the first child and daughter of Noma (Lawrence) Christian with her first husband. Later on, she grew to know and love her step-father Leslie Christian. She loved horses and this led her to meet her husband John Cardosa. They married in 1965 at the Five Wounds Church in San Jose and several years after bought and moved to her Uncle Pat's farm in Holmes, Humbolt County, California. In 1978, the family moved to Eagle Point, Oregon, and purchased a dairy ranch where she wanted to spend the rest of her life. She pursued her hobbies of animal care, gardening, and cooking, as well as running the ranch alongside her husband. They switched to raising beef cows in the late 1980's, and she later worked at Kadee Quality Products which produced model train parts. JoAnna was baptized and joined the Seventh-day Adventist church in 1996. John passed away in 2009. JoAnna never wanted to leave the ranch but agreed to come and live with her daughter in Glendale Arizona in 2018 due to her health. JoAnna is survived by her only child, Anna Cardosa Gray, son-in-law Steve Gray, brother William "Bill" Kinkey, sisters Ginger Macklin and Fay Lotspeich, and half-brother Gerry Kinkey, as well as nieces and nephews.
