Date of Birth: September 16, 1954
Date of Death: January 21, 2023
John A. Viola Jr., 68, of Goodyear, Arizona, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday, January 21st. John relentlessly fought stage IV cancer bravely for over two years, remaining strong even during his final days. John was born on September 16, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up in South Philadelphia, attending schools there in his youth. As he got older, he moved to Wildwood, NJ for some very important chapters in his life, and then to Magnolia, NJ for some time before taking on the next big adventure: moving to Arizona, where he lived in Goodyear and Wickenburg. Blessed and ambitious, John wore many hats throughout his life. Whether he was creating a masterpiece of furniture or cabinetry, building a house, “working down the market,” or running a successful business, you always had the pleasure of being around his loving and giving soul. In his 68 years of living, John culminated a massive number of friends and family that are mourning him, love him, and will miss him forever. John is the beloved husband of Dolores Viola (nee Addeo), loving father of Melissa Chandler, and amazing grandfather (Poppi) to Jaden, Niko, and Annika. John is also survived by siblings Anthony (Terry), Louie (late Susan), Joey (Nancy), and Cathy. Loving “sisters” and “brothers”, nieces, nephews, and many people that became family. He was preceded in death by: son Jason Chandler; parents John and Michelina; siblings: Amelia and Frank (Hank). The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Mary (Nurse), Angelina (NA), and Jeff (social worker) of Hospice of the Valley for their kindness, care, support, to John and his family during his final days.
