Kathleen Marie Shehan Deyo, 70, of Peoria, Az., passed away peacefully, on Friday, August 3, 2018, with her husband Ray, her four sisters and two brothers and family by her side. Kathy was born September 4, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Clarella Kean Shehan and Dr. Thomas A. Shehan. Kathy grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, graduating from St. Ann’s grade school and Beaumont High School. She and Ray began their 45 years of marriage with eight wonderful years in Germany, where Ray was stationed. Europe was their playground. Kathy enjoyed working as Tours and Tourist Director for military families, adding many extra travels to her time there. Back in the States, Kathy was employed for many years as Activities Director at Care and Dementia Facilities in Phoenix, Az., where she assisted the elderly and brought music and entertainment to their lives. Kathy was an outdoor girl who loved camping, fishing, gardening and growing vegetables and herbs of all kinds, with Ray and their beloved dogs always by her side. She was very talented at the piano, bringing life to any keyboard and filling their homes with music. Kathy was also a fantastic chef, always keeping alive old favorite recipes but never afraid to try something new. After the excitement of watching its construction, Kathy and Ray moved into their brand new house in early January, 2018. For the next six months they happily turned it into their home, lovely on the inside and landscaped on the outside with newly planted trees, flowers, vegetables and pathways surrounded by green. Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Ray Deyo; her dear sisters Peggy Klein (Pat), Mary Shehan, Judy Goodrich (David), Theresa Riley; dear brothers, Tommy (Jane), Carl (Cherie); brother in law Robbie Deyo (Denise); sister in law Barbara Majovski (Carl); sixteen nieces and nephews; nineteen great nieces and nephews; many cousins; and little Sammy, their precious Jack Russel Terrier. We Love You Kathy...and miss you so much. Rest In Peace.
Burial Service for Kathy will be held at 8:00 AM, Friday, August 24, 2018, at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
