Our mom, Kathryn Kerin Sherer, passed away peacefully in her sleep on 7/4/21. She was born in Sturgis, Michigan on 1/6/36 and was raised by an aunt and uncle after her mother passed away in 1941. While pursuing a degree in social work at Michigan State University she met dad in September of 1955, were married on 7/6/57, and were together until his passing on 1/2/15. She was an amazing woman, a traditional mom in an untraditional way. She and dad owned apartment complexes in the valley, a resort (Lake of the Woods) in Pinetop-Lakeside, and later a Hallmark store in Phoenix before she and dad retired in 1999.She was also involved in social work with seniors. Mom's family includes a son, two daughters, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, three granddaughters, a great grandson, nieces, and nephews for whom she loved very much. The three beliefs closets to her heart were faith, family, and friends and she will be greatly missed.
