Date of Birth: October 06, 1945
Date of Death: May 14, 2022
It is with our deepest sorrow that we share with you the peaceful passage of our loved one “Dave” into the hands of the Lord on May 14, 2022. David, also known as “Papa” the man, the myth, the legend, was 76 years young. Born in Moose Jaw, Sask, raised in Port Colborne, Ont, then moved to Buffalo in 1963. He became an American citizen while serving in the US Air Force (1966) and served in Vietnam. Being a Canadian, he grew up on the ice playing hockey and bringing the ‘slap shot’ to his game of golf. He enjoyed adventure, including motorcycling across the country, playing pranks on friends and family and always a good joke that he would pass on to many via text. He was a man who connected easily with people everywhere, constantly embracing their attributes and encouraging their growth – often without the person immediately realizing his natural talent/ability. Dave enjoyed traveling, spending time with all his wonderful friends, and being a lifelong “frustrated” Bills fan. His philosophy in life was to have a positive impact on others and believed if you can't guide people to be better than yourself, then you have accomplished nothing. He spent more than 40 years in the healthcare field holding many administrative roles all over the US, finishing his career as CFO for Catholic Health Systems and consulting with Kaleida Health in Buffalo, NY. He is survived by his loving wife Julia Jordan of Cave Creek, AZ, daughters Holly (Christopher) Mateer of Aurora, IL; and Kimberly Crone of Johnston, IA; grandchildren Kylie Mateer, Shaylinn (AJ Hawxby) Crone, Colin Tucker, Nicholas and Tyla Crone; mother Constance Crone Coulter of St. Catharines, Ont; sister Bonita (Willard) Bondgren of Springwater, NY; mother-in-law Sandy Jordan, father-in-law George Jordan; sister-in-law Peggy Kaldenberg and many nieces, nephews and Great friends. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth W Crone. David loved golf and looks forward to meeting you on the back nine…..
As per his wishes, there will be two celebrations of Life (Arizona June 14, 2022 & Buffalo that will be held at a future date) to share, with much love and laughter, his extraordinary sense of humor and the love of his family and friends.
