Larry Schlinker passed away on September 18th. He was born September 14th, 1943, in Phoenix, AZ, and raised in West Camp, NY. It was there that he met Kathy, his wife of 53 years. He spent 23 years in the Air Force, and during that time, he and Kathy had three daughters, Erika, Tia, and Karin. In 1985 he retired from the Air Force and moved the family to Phoenix. He went to work for Van's Pro Shops, where he worked for over 20 years. Throughout his life he enjoyed bowling, golfing, and he instilled his great love of books, movies and music in his daughters and grandchildren. He loved his family so much and will be deeply missed and loved forever. He is survived by his wife Kathy, daughters Erika, Tia and Karin, sons-in-law Mike, Fred and Chris, granddaughters Ashley and Chelsey, grandsons Michael, Chad, Christopher, Nicholas and Jacob, and great-granddaughter Epic.
Special note should be made of the extraordinary care provided by the doctors, nurses and aides of Hospice of the Valley. They made his passing one of comfort and dignity, and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to their wonderful organization. There will be no public service per Larry's wishes.
