Lupe was born in Phoenix, AZ and the first 8 years of her life were spent growing up on the ranch, “el rancho”, in El Mirage, AZ. From an early age, Lupe was known as the “caretaker” of her younger sisters and cousins while her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles worked the fields. She attended Shaw Butte Elementary School and graduated from Thunderbird High School in 1982. Lupe went on to attend Apollo College and attained her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. Lupe also dabbled a little in the modeling industry appearing in local commercials, runway fashion shows, department store and newspaper advertisements. Lupe was a nature and animal lover; her passion for hiking, camping, skiing and all things outdoors was evident in her enthusiasm when readying for a hike, a camping trip or a trip to Mexico to visit family. The endless pets that she had were all loved and well-cared for because she was a true advocate for the four-legged creatures. Her openness and acceptance of everyone made it very easy for Lupe to make friends and she will always be remembered as someone who was open, giving and spiritual. Living life to the fullest and the love she had her for her family, friends & pets will be her legacy; she will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
