It is with great sadness that the family of Marvin LaVacque 76, of Sun City Arizona, announce his unexpected passing on June 6, 2020. Marv accomplished a lot in his life. He received a Masters Degree in Education from Northern Michigan University. He spent 15 years teaching and working in community schools for West Iron County school system in Iron River Michigan. Marv was multi faceted and chose to move into the world of retail owning and operating several small businesses in Gwinn, Michigan, and Colorado Springs Colorado. After retiring in 2006, he moved to Grand Junction Colorado to enjoy watching his grandchildren grow up. Most recently he settled in Sun City Arizona to be able to continue his active lifestyle. Marv was a people person. He served on two boards in Arizona, and accumulated a multitude of friends. He will be missed by many. Marv is survived by Sue his wife of 53 years, his daughter Nicole Pinneo (Chris), his son Jared LaVacque of Anchorage, Alaska, two grandchildren Emily Pinneo and Ryan Pinneo of Grand Junction Colorado, a brother Robert LaVacque (Donna) of Amasa, Michigan, a sister Beverly Przybylski of St. Petersburg, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Marv's parents Joseph and Catherine LaVacque and brother Kenneth LaVacque (Jackie) preceded him in death. A special thanks for all the love and support we have received from everyone.
Closed funeral services for the family were held at Best Funeral Services West Valley Chapel Peoria AZ Friday June 12, 2020 from 3:00-4:00pm.
