Mel was born in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of 7 children. He enjoyed the life of most boys born in Brooklyn in the 50’s and 60’s, playing stickball and other games in the street along with his share of mischief. He attended St. Thomas Aquinas grade school and graduated from Brooklyn Technical H.S. Mel married in 1981 and shortly afterwards enlisted in the United States Army. His military assignment brought him and his young family to Darmstadt, Germany where they lived for 4 years. After eight years of service, Mel moved his family to Phoenix, AZ. in 1990 and began a long career in the telecommunication installation industry. Mel was a loving father to Joyce, Jessica and Dylan, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, son, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Agnes, and sister Elaine. He was a simple man, a good man, a man who loved music, nature, good food and the company of good friends. Rest in peace.
