Patricia Joan Jennings, 83 years old, peacefully passed after a brief illness on October 6th, surrounded by her family. Pat was born on Sept 12th, 1938, in Trona, California. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Gebhart and her father, Raymond Lorenz. After graduating from Huntington Park High School in California, she married the love of her life, James Jennings. Pat and Jim resided in Downey, California while raising their 2 daughters, Lauren and Kelly. Pat dreamed of becoming a nurse and proudly graduated from Cerritos Community College in 1972. She worked 12 years at Rio Hondo Hospital in various positions, including med-surg, quality and risk management. She loved being a nurse and treated every patient with the utmost care and respect until her retirement in 1984. Pat and Jim moved to Palm Desert, CA that same year and finally to their forever home in Sun City, AZ in 1991. Pat’s friends were her family and celebrating life with them was her priority. Whether on the golf course or at the card table, hosting pool parties or chili cook-offs, bringing everyone together was one of her greatest joys. Her home was their home. She was known for her laughter and carefree spirit. Pat lived life abundantly; she was an avid football and baseball fan and a collector of everything crystal. She deeply loved her husband of 64 years, poured her heart into her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She instilled many values: love of family, love of country/military, loyalty and work ethic. She will be missed beyond measure! She is survived by her husband Jim Jennings, her adoring daughters Lauren Howl and Kelly Stump (Bruce), 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, half-brother and sisters, and multiple nieces and nephews.
