Date of Birth: April 05, 1945
Date of Death: May 28, 2023
Richard “Val” “Dick” Paul Valentine Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at home with his wife at his side. Dick was born to John and Connie Valentine on April 5, 1945 in Brooklyn NY. He attended school in Brooklyn graduating from Lincoln High. He once pitched an “almost” no hitter game to Rico Petrocelli. His catcher and lifelong friend told him to walk Rico, but “Ragarm” was confident since he had already struck him out twice. Turns out he should have listened to his lifelong friend, Paul Licitra as Petrocelli hit the ball so hard that they are still looking for it somewhere near the Statue of Liberty. He came to Arizona after graduating and attended Phoenix College. He applied for work at Switzers Department Store as a delivery driver. He was asked if he could drive a stick and said of course he could, he could drive anything…which eventually was true. Nothing a new transmission wouldn’t fix. He went back to NY after college and became an insurance adjuster. Eventually he owned and operated his own body shop in Mastic NY. In the early 80s, he sold his business, returned to Arizona and made the Valley his permanent home. Except for a short stint of owning and operating a feed store in Cave Creek, he remained in the collision center business. He had a long and successful career in which he was highly respected until his retirement in 2017. He always lived life to the fullest even when he no longer could. He loved to travel and spend time with friends. His true love was his family and spending time with them. He was always their protector and biggest fan and supporter of whatever they did. He loved that they all lived near him and he could see them often. He is survived by his wife, Annette Cisman, daughter, Lori (Clif) Swann, stepchildren, Rachel Sites, Richard (Yvonne) Cisman, and Rebekah Cisman. Grandchildren, Caitlyn Sites, Alexis Sites, Gary Swann, Samantha Cisman, Harrison Cisman, and Peter Cisman. He was preceded in death by his father and his mother.
