Bob Brown of Anthem, Arizona, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021, a day after he celebrated his 86th birthday with his family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patti Brown and sons RJ Brown (Suzy), Sherb (Tracy) Dayton (Stasi) Brown along with four wonderful grandsons, four wonderful granddaughters, and lots of nieces and nephews who will all miss him tremendously. Bob grew up in Grosse Pointe Michigan and attended Michigan State University before joining the Navy in 1955. Upon his discharge from Naval service, Bob continued his education at the University of Michigan before embarking on a short-lived but entertaining stint as a professional tennis coach. Bob eventually settled into a hugely successful career in advertising which culminated with the launch of the RJ Brown Company. Brown was a prominent figure in the auto industry and was active in that area for much of his professional career. He was a member of the Automotive Fleet Leasing Association (AFLA) and NAFA, and he served as a resource for OEM fleet managers in Detroit for more than three decades. Bob was inducted into the Fleet Hall of Fame in 2017. Bob loved his family more than anything. His dogs (Boots and Kindle) came in a close second along with an incredible group of friends. A group of friends that all knew they could count on Bob if they ever needed a helping hand, some moral support, or a fourth for golf. Bob was deeply committed to making the world a better place and he was an unqualified success at that. He was the kind of father, husband, friend, and mentor that people will never forget.
