Apostle Rodney J. Curry, 53, of Peoria, AZ departed this earthly life Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Rodney J. Curry was born January 10, 1967 in Rockford, IL to James E. and Betty Curry. He was the seventh child born into this union. Rodney J. Curry married Twyla L. McGough on July 21,1997. To cherish his loving memory are his wife of 23 years; son, Rodney J. (Melina) Curry II; daughter, Wisdom Faith Curry; his grandchildren Emma Holguin and Rodney J Curry III; godchildren Teshaude Sockwell, Latavia and Aniyah Green, his brothers and sisters James C. (Shirley) Curry, Edna (Steven) Kinser, Gregory (Keanna) Curry, Patricia Curry, John (Tasha) Holmes, Lawonda Joyce and Linda White; god-sister, Lori-Mickey Thompson. Predeceased by brother, Paul (Debra) Curry. He leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Rodney attended Rockford East High School where he played basketball and football. He was later employed at Hamilton Sundstrand, now known as United Technologies Corporation, in Rockford, IL for 6 years. He owned and operated his own business, Curry’s Cleaning Service, for over 20 years. Rodney received Christ at an early age then later rededicated his life to God in August 1995 and served God faithfully until his departure from this life. He was a member of Faith Temple Church in Rockford, IL for 16 years and during that time became an Associate Minister under the leadership of Apostle Author (Viola) Crowder. He was later ordained a minister and in April 2011 he founded Beyond the Veil Global Ministries and God called him to move his family to Phoenix, AZ where he has pastored for almost ten years. Over the span of his life, Rodney was a laborer, counselor, and teacher. Most importantly, he was a minister of the Gospel, a son of God and a pastor to the world.
Service Information
Funeral arrangements completed by Best Funeral Services, Peoria, AZ. Visitation will be held from 9am-12pm, November 14, 2020 at Beyond the Veil Global Ministries, 2916 N 35th Ave, Suite 5, Phoenix, AZ 85017. The funeral is private and limited to family and church family only. Masks are required. Burial will be held 1:30pm Saturday, November 14, 2020 in Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Cremation Center, 15826 N. Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351.

So sorry to hear of Rodney’s passing. He was a great student-athlete at Rockford East High School and my husband, Brad Fowler, and sons, Curt and Todd, were privileged to have known him. I am writing to express my condolences to the Curry family during their ordeal. I remember Rodney very well when I used to come visit my sister in Rockford. Rodney lived down the street from my sister and he always was a pleasant person. Rodney will be missed.
