Rose Ann (Boeding) Davis, 73, of New River, Arizona, passed away at home, on Tuesday, July 31st. She was surrounded by her loving husband, her daughter and all four of her granddaughters. She will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Known as “Saint Ann”, she never met a stranger, and was a friend to all. Ann was born on October 28, 1944, in Dyersville, Iowa, to Henry J. and Alvira E. (Naber) Boeding. Ann was one of twelve siblings, raised in Lamont, Iowa. She attended Starmont High School and was a majorette, played basketball and also sang in the church choir. Ann met Gary Davis in Kansas City in 1965, they were engaged six months later. They married on June 18th, 1966 and recently celebrated 52 years together. They welcomed their first daughter, Dana Lynn, on March 26th, 1967, and their second daughter, Terri Ann, on December 13th, 1968. As a Navy wife, they had eight moves before Gary retired and the family settled in Spring Hill, Kansas. Ann worked in Bridal and earned her Associates Degree from Johnson County Community College. Until her retirement, Ann worked for Westat and traveled across the country as a Medicare Surveyor to interview her “people”. They made the final move to New River, Arizona in 2004. Ann loved to travel. From Italy, to Alaska, her favorites included Disneyland, Rocky Point, Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, as well as a Caribbean Cruise. Ann was able to attend all four of her granddaughters’ college graduations, most recently in Portland, Oregon. As a lover of nature, Ann spent her time caring for her plants, combing for seashells, and hiking her mountain. Ann loved ice skating, baton twirling, and doing everything for everyone else. She was an avid reader, won big at the casino, and loved hanging with their friends at her church and the American Legion. She had varied interests, from sewing to singing to game shows, Ann was talented in all. As a devoted Catholic, Ann loved to attend Mass and teach religious studies. She was proceeded in death by her parents, daughter Terri Ann Davis, brothers Herman Boeding, Francis Boeding, Linus Boeding, Leo Boeding and sisters Rita Thys, Sister Mary Elaine Boeding, and Virginia Wise. Survivors include her husband, Gary Davis, daughter Dana Wiggin and son-in-law Troy, granddaughters Kelcie Wiggin, Nicole Wiggin, Jordyn Enochs and Kaitlyn Enochs, grandsons Jesse Rodgers and Tyler Rodgers, sisters Dorothy Lovetinsky and husband Wayne, Laura Behning and husband Allen, Jan Wilhelm and husband Tom, brother Al Boeding and wife Patsy and many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Service Information

A Catholic Mass will be held at Good Shepherd Mission church at 10am on Saturday, August 11th. Following Mass, a remembrance of her life will be held at the American Legion Post #34 in Cave Creek, Arizona. Intermittent to follow at a later date at the National Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix Arizona.
