Rosemary Ann Bradford Linhares, passed away at home in Phoenix on May 16, 2023. She was born in Humboldt, Iowa to Marianne J. (Lieuwen) and Harold W. DeGroote on May 8, 1941. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1959 and attended the University of Wyoming. “Rosebud” was cherished by her family and adored by the many friends she accumulated throughout her life. Upon leaving the business marketing group at Mountain Bell after 17 years, she took on contract employment that kept her out and about doing such things as delivering newspapers, telephone directories, and, most favorite of all, flowers from Phoenix Flower Shops. She loved to escape the summer heat by spending time at her home in Humboldt. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, son, Todd (1990), her husband of 36 years, Tom (2018), and her brother, Doug (2022). She will be especially missed by her daughter, Amber Bradford, grandchildren Paige and Jacob Delbridge, Trent Bradford, Ryan (Ashton) and Justin Chiquete. Also surviving are brothers John DeGroote (Sharon), and David DeGroote (Amy), 4 nieces, and 5 nephews. Rosemary’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at Best Funeral Services, 501 E. Dunlap Ave. Phoenix, AZ. Internment at St. Frances Cemetery will follow service. Visit www.bestfuneralservices.com for more information or to offer condolences.
So sorry for the loss of Rosemary, I was a classmate of Rosemary, class of 1959, Humboldt, Iowa. Every class reunion we had we had a great time enjoying stories and remembering of classmates.
So sorry to hear of “Storm’s” passing. She and I were horse lovers and rode together around Humboldt during the summers and were friends of Tom and Rosemary. We used to get together when they came to Iowa in the summer. She was always lots of fun to be with and I’m sure she will be missed by many people!
The class of ‘59 celebrates your life! We have many memories from high school and the years after. My favorite card from you stated, “ We’re friends because, amazingly, you don’t seem intimidated by my beauty!!” We had great fun putting together the reunions and I will miss you. You and Les get started on the one to be held someday at the pearly gates:)
Thoughts to Amber and family and to John and David. Memories of Rosemary – sitting at the kitchen table in Humboldt with she and Tom, class reunions, auctions and garage sales, tenderloins, going on a flower delivery with her when I visited Phoenix, remembering that she didn’t like to talk first thing in the morning and more. I am happy that I had Rosemary for a friend. Memories will not be forgotten and will always be with me.
