Serena Michelle Toraason went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 14, 2020. She had just turned 21 on October 25th, 2019. Serena graduated from Sunrise Mountain High School, Peoria, AZ in May of 2017. While in high school, Serena was an active member of the Best Buddies organization and Unified Sports, both of which mentored students with disabilities. She briefly attended Northern Arizona University. She had hoped to one day be a an ICU nurse. Serena attended Christ’s Church of Valley (CCV) in Peoria, Arizona as a youth. She was very active with her church youth group and volunteered in both the special needs ministry and the children’s ministry. In November 2019, Serena gave birth to a beautiful baby girl whom she chose to give to a loving family to give this new life the very best opportunity. All of this serves to provide a small picture of who Serena was. She had a huge heart, was compassionate for people, especially those who had special needs or were broken in some way or another, and she was selfless, always putting other’s needs before her own. She loved animals, movies, writing, shopping, vacations (especially the ones with a beach and roller coasters), making special family meals, and hanging out with her friends. Most of all, she loved her family. Serena leaves behind her Mom and Dad, Dan and Teresa Toraason, her birthfather, Joshua Moore, four siblings - a brother, Steven Ochoa, his wife, Brittany, a sister, Alexondra Osorno, her husband, Lucio Osorno, a sister, Bryson Kraft, her husband, Larry Kraft, a brother, Hudson Toraason, one niece, Angeleena, and two nephews, Christian and Phoenix. She also leaves behind two grandmothers and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and close friends.
