Shirley was born in Eaton Rapids MI to Merle and Lena Getter. Shirley has 1 son Jeffrey Scott Pomeroy, and 2 Grandsons, Jeffrey Lee Pomeroy and Andrew Pomeroy. Shirley married Andy Gambino Oct 29th, 1983, and they are more in love today than they were when they first married. Shirley was known for being a person of great faith in Jesus. She was a prayer warrior that was called on by many people and touched many lives. Shirley had a heart for children, and stood on the bible verse, train up a child in the way they should go, and they will not depart from it. Over many years she taught hundreds of kids in Sunday school class. The bible says God is love, well Shirley is love. She was one of kind who loved everyone she met, and who was loved the same way.

Oh, Shirley, we loved you so. You lit up the room with joy and love. Such a wonderful Christian woman. We will miss you and look forward to seeing you again in Heaven where we will rejoice with the angels.
I am sorry to have to miss today’s services. Sending my condolences for a beautiful lady and her family for this sudden loss. My Prayers and thoughts are with you today.
I miss her more every day. She was one of a kind, a loving mom, grandma, and the best wife I could ever have. I love you honey.
I remember Shirley Getter as the prettiest girl in our 7th Grade class. She was kind, caring, had a beautiful smile and a very friendly demeanor. Shirley was liked by all of her classmates. After 7th or 8th Grade, we lost track of one another. It was not until recently that I learned about her transition. May Shirley’s family recall a mountain of fond memories to celebrate now and in the years to come. Pat (Patti Hallifax) Buggia
