I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; II Timothy 4:7 Steve Spohn, 65, died Sunday after declining health. Steve had many friends of all ages at Paradise Valley Apostolic Church where he attended for thirty-eight years. He was baptized in Jesus name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in August 1982. Steve spoke with passion and gratefulness regarding his love for God, and his joy in serving Him. His determination and dedication to serve God faithfully, made an impact on many. He will be missed. Steve was a true historian. He enjoyed taking groups of young people to various historic places around the valley, explaining the history, significance and impact each place held. Some of the trips included Arizona State Capitol, the grand opening of the Deck Park Tunnel, and the memorials and statues at the Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza. He often gave gifts of special coins, historical books and other treasures. He worked for City Wide Pest Control until his retirement, and was known throughout the valley by his loyal customers. Steve is survived by his wife of 37 years, Deborah, her daughter, Donnie Thomas, and grandsons Brandon and Bradley Thomas.
