PHOENIX: (602) 906-9600 | PEORIA: (623) 486-1955

Date of Birth: July 24, 1952

Date of Death: April 09, 2019

On Tuesday April 9th 2019, Susan (Suzie) L. D’Amato left this world much to soon at the age of 66. Suzie was born in Peoria Illinois on July 24th, 1952 to the late Vernie Hand and M. Maree Hand (nee Shaw). She is survived by her loving husband Michael, mother Maree, daughter Kimberly Sierra (Jeremy) and grand-daughters Shawna and Kiley, step-daughters Stephanie Comeaux (Blake) and Valerie D’Amato, sister Karen Young (Rich) and brother Kevin (Enca) Hand. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special lifelong best friend Pam Wooden. Suzie lived with creative style in everything she did from her always coordinated outfits to her pride in tasteful home décor. She loved to “re-do” and was often working on a project, looking for a great find or buying that perfect gift. Suzie was always planning the next trip and said it was because she had something to look forward to. Above all, Suzie was a kind, patient, loyal, thoughtful, loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend. She fought until the end with hope, courage, dignity and the belief in miracles. Her self-less attitude was more about those she loved than herself every day of her life right up to the last day. That is just who she was and what made her so special. We will miss her infectious laugh, bright smile, incredible sense of humor and having her in our lives. We all are grateful for her time here with us and are better people because of what she taught us about life and how to treat others. Though we are sad beyond words, we know that you are not suffering any longer and take solace in knowing that God truly has another angel in heaven today. Until we meet again my love, “mostest”!
