Terry LaValley was a proud Marine who loved his country. Patriotism was a huge part of his life. Terry served in the 2nd Marines Recon Unit in the Vietnam War. Upon his return from service, Terry worked at the Pentagon running security background checks. He attended several events at the White House as a Marine Guard. Terry never failed to recognize and pay respects to his fellow servicemen in uniform, or just simply wearing a hat, and always thanked them for their service. Terry's career was primarily in the insurance industry as an agent for Farmers insurance, and also as a marketing representative for several insurance carriers. He was an active member of the Arizona Independent Insurance Agents for many years. Family was very a important part of Terry's life. Much of his family lived out of state, and while visits were sometimes sporadic, they were always in his heart and thoughts. Terry relished the time he spent with his grandchildren and loved to tickle them and make jokes. He was very close to his brother, Pete, who is the youngest sibling and the two of them were together often. Terry will always be remembered as a kind soul who cared for others.
