Thomas Joseph Mortensen, 47, of Glendale, Arizona, passed away on April 6, 2022 after a brief battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. Tom was an Arizona native, born to Donald and Patricia (Eich) Mortensen in Phoenix, and a graduate of Sunnyslope High School. He was well known in the automotive industry as the co-owner of Colors On The Run, serving the valley for over 20 years with his brother David. Tom also opened a motorcycle parts company almost 10 years ago, with his son Tyler serving as his right hand man. He was an extremely handy person and could always be counted on to offer help to his fellow man, whether it was a family member, friend, neighbor, or a young kid working at the local Circle K. He loved dirt bike riding, audio electronics, driving, and his annual hurting trips. Tom was a devoted family man, a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle who will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Tonya (née Barnett) and son Tyler, both of Glendale; brother David (Colleen), nieces Megan and Katie, all of Phoenix, Elizabeth Barnett, and great-niece Mariana Costa, both of Ohio; and many other family members. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:7-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬
