Virginia (Gina) A Hammack passed from this earth on Monday August 21, 2023 in Phoenix, AZ at the age of 83. Gina was born to Charles and Virginia (June) Vance on December 15, 1939 in Alamosa CO, and was the oldest of 3 siblings along with brothers Dennis and Luther (Kurt) Vance. Gina was preceded in death by her parents Charles and June Vance, and brother Dennis in 2013. She is survived by brother Kurt Vance and wife Sharon, children: Don Whitney Rio Rancho NM, Carol Taulbee (Charles) Farmington NM, Jody Whitney (Cathy) Campbell CA, Christi Bradshaw (Darrell) Phoenix AZ and Robyn Hammack Phoenix AZ, grandchildren: Jared Marquis (Lori), Justin Marquis (Valarie), Cayla Whitney (Kal), Jennifer Whitney (Raymond), and Jason Whitney, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Gina was a gifted musician and talented artist. She was incredibly bright and valedictorian of her high school graduating class. She loved to read and spent a lifetime learning. She embraced the “computer age” early on and spent her later years “working” on her computer every morning. She kept up on all of the major news and had her own Facebook and Twitter accounts. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
