Wesley Earl Steward was born April 24, 1940, in Elgin, Illinois. He grew up in Barrington, Illinois and moved to Tempe, Arizona in 1955 where he attended Tempe High School and played football. After graduation in 1958, he obtained an apprenticeship to become a heavy equipment mechanic. He later received more training, becoming a Tanner Brothers Master Mechanic in 1967. While working in Seligman, Arizona, he met his wife, Lynette. They were married September 20, 1968 and celebrated 50 years together before he passed away. Wes really enjoyed camping, hiking and mountain climbing and was a member of the Arizona Mountain Rescue. He served many years as an usher at Northwest Community Christian Church where he and his family attended for 18 years. Wes is survived by his wife Lynette, daughters Sherri, Debbie, Stacey, and Kristy, his sister Caryl, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren (with one on the way). He was preceded in death by his son Gary and granddaughter Emily. Wes went home to be with the Lord early in the morning on May 7th, 2019. Wes was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
