A mutual friend introduced Wilda and Frederick - the two were engaged after 6 months and married after 8 months on October 25, 1969. Due to Frederick’s busy travel schedule for work, Wilda immediately stepped in to raise her three stepchildren with love and grace. Wilda and Frederick had two children (Scott and Erika) before moving from Ohio to Phoenix, AZ in 1975. Wilda worked as an Administrative Assistant in Attendance and Discipline at several schools within the Glendale Union High School District. After retiring in 2000, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, entertaining family and friends at her home of 44 years, shopping, volunteering, hitting the Laughlin casinos to play on a hot penny machine, and helping her friends and family however she could. Wilda loved her husband, children, family and friends fiercely, and she was equally loved by them and many, many others. Her warm spirit, kind heart, infectious smile, and quick wit will be missed, but her legacy of love, compassion, and kindness will live on.
